Our Story

Momo and Michelle started Eat a Rainbow Foundation and are both professionally trained chefs who own a successful catering business in Taranaki.

The journey began when NZ went into COVID lockdown in 2020. Momo and Michelle saw a need during this tough time and donated meals to support New Plymouth’s most vulnerable families. Word got out about their amazing meal packages and the local community subsequently got behind them. By the end of lockdown over 1000 meals had been donated to families going through a range of challenges, from tamariki going through cancer treatment during lockdown, to families requiring emergency housing.

They realised that there was an ongoing need for donated food packages, so they set up the Eat a Rainbow Foundation. Today the Foundation continues to reach out and support families, by working alongside charities, such as Gabby’s Starlit Hope and Roderique Hope Trust. Meals are also delivered to children’s wards around NZ for parents and tamariki who are admitted outside of mealtimes.

The foundation regularly receives incredible testimonials of how their meals have helped parents through difficult times, and they are continually humbled when they see the sense of relief met with tears of gratitude from the parents and tamariki that they meet.
